SRK said : She’s a sweetheart. You get to work very rarely with people from whom you can learn a lot; Priyanka is one of them. She’s junior to me, but I’ve learnt a lot from her. She also has an insane love for cameras, I mean right when they start rolling, she starts giving her best. I really enjoyed working with her, because she loves me a lot, you know, she keeps going gaga over me so it makes me feel like I am really someone special. All-in-all it’s a very nice work feeling.
Eastern Eye, a weekly, conducted a survey through social networking sites like twitter and Kareena came out on top, edging out last year''s winner Katrina Kaif.
Kareena, who recently gave hits like ''Bodyguard'' and ''Ra.One'', won by one per cent of votes, the narrowest ever margin and beat off tough competition from some of the most stunning women from around the world. Katrina, who had won the title for the last three years by a large margin, slipped into second place. Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir said, "This battle between the two beauties is a sign of things to come in Bollywood in the next few years. Although the list contained pop stars, TV personalities, models and film stars from around the world, the voting quite comprehensively showed that Kareena and Katrina have put a distance between themselves and the rest of the contenders in terms of popularity." Hrithik Roshan''s wife Sussanne received a massive number of votes and was one of the highest new entries at number 16.Other notable stars in the list included Priyanka Chopra (3), and Bipasha Basu (4), who both slipped down one place each. Frieda Pinto came 5th, followed by Deepika Padukone (7). New entries included Jacqueline Fernandez (12), Nargis Fakhri (23) and Sonakshi Sinha (38). Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came 6th and Sonam Kapoor 9th. Lara Dutta stood at number 15 and Malaika Arora Khan at 19. We all know that AR Murugadoss and Vijay together is going to do a movie. The movie was entitled as Thuppaki. There were rumours that Priyanka Chopra is opposites Vijay in Thuppaki. While asking about this to Priyanka she denied that. Priyanka Chopra said that , "Vijay is my first hero and I still remain a fan of him. TheThamizhan experience is still green in me. Similarly, Murugadoss is one of my favourite filmmakers. I would work with both of them if I get a right opportunity at the right time."The film to be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu (earlier SA Chandrasekhar was said to be the producer), will be made on a huge budget, "Murugadoss has penned a gripping script. He is aware of the expectations of his joining hands with the Ilayathalapathy," sources say.
If Hollywood can have one, so can Bollywood. Mumbai will soon see a Bollywood Walk of Fame on the lines of its Hollywoood counterpart that honours the top celebs in the West.
The Indian property, which will come up at the promenade in the city’s Bandra Bandstand, will be a tribute to the biggest stars in Indian cinema. “We always wanted to honour Bollywood and the people associated with it. We thought it’s important to make something that is of a permanent stature to pay tribute to their invaluable contribution to the industry,” says Nikhil Gandhi, business head of UTV Stars, which is behind the initiative. The property, which is expected to be thrown open in January, will see on display, the handprints of stars on slabs dedicated to them. “Having a Bollywood Walk of Fame where people can see the handprints of their favourite stars would be fun for fans,” says actor Arjun Rampal. Actors Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are some of the names being considered for the first round of honours. Many actors do their best to take up a cause and speak for it. Priyanka Chopra is one such actor. She has stood up for various causes like leprosy. She says, "I take my social responsibilities very seriously, and believe that when you really want to go something you always find time for it. If I can help a good cause in anyway by supporting it, I have always been able to find the time. I felt that having a documentary in English would be good to create awareness among kids in schools, colleges and cities, but to make the appeal wider we had to shoot in Hindi. That way we canreach out to rural pockets as well, where people need to be told about the wrong notions that they have regarding this disease."

Priyanka Chopra has returned from a month long stay in LA where she recorded her debut album. Working with international singer-producers like Farnando Garibay, Pete Wentzand Sam Watters, she is going all out to ensure she makes her foray into the world of music with a big bang. Here the actress talks about her album for the first time. Read on...
How much of your album is done? The month in LA was quite productive. I spent every day in the studio, writing and recording music with various producers and lyricists. It was a great learning experience and a lot of fun. I've made some serious headway, but there is still a long way to go before we're ready to release. All in all, it's been a great start and I am looking forward to sharing my music with the world. Tell us a bit about the recording process? (Laughs) Where do I begin... It's a whole new ball game for me... To be honest, I was quite nervous the first few times I went into the recording booth but I had the opportunity to work with some great talent and they all helped me find my feet. Is there a routine you follow before you get into the vocal booth? Not really. It's been a very creative process. Essentially, I sit with the song writers and music producers and we brainstorm on songs, penning down lyrics and putting together the melodies etc. You wrote your own songs.. Yes, this trip has really been a very creatively enriching experience for me and has opened up a side of me I never knew existed! I've been writing poems and prose for a long while now but that was more for myself...more private. But song writing is completely different and most often you're using your own thoughts and feelings. That's a bit scary given that you're going to be sharing that with the rest of the world! Did you do any vocal exericises etc? Singing is pretty much like using any other muscle in your body, when the vocal chords get tired you know it, you feel it. I have been working with two voice coaches, one in India and one in the US, whenever my schedule permits. It's great because it has helped me understand what I can do with my singing voice and has also helped me develop it in many ways. It's almost like going to a gym... for my vocal chords (laughs) Is your album rap, given that you are a fan of Hip-Hop and R&B ? Yes, I am a fan of hip-hop and R&B, but no, that's not something I'm going to be doing... for now at least! She is the darling of the masses and the industry wallas. Beautiful, talented, multi-faceted Priyanka Chopra has often worn many a hats. From carrying the Miss World crown & responsibilities on her young teenage shoulders to rubbing shoulders with the top Bollywood actors like Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, to Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan who is completely in awe of her.

Their much-anticipated sequel, Don 2, hits theatres on December 23. And almost a month later, on January 21, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra will co-host the Zee Cine Awards 2012 at The Venetian in Macau. It is the first time that both actors will be hosting a gala together. Shah Rukh has only partnered with Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor before this.
Earlier, buzz was that Saif and his actor-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor may host the event. Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, too were apparently being considered. But Mohan Gopinath, business head, Zee Cinema, confirms that it’s going to be the Don and his jungli billi (wild cat): “Zee Cine Awards has come up with many firsts. Last year, we got together Akshay Kumar and Sajid Khan. I’m sure Shah Rukh and Priyanka will be fantastic.” Last year, at the event in Singapore, Priyanka had taken on six different avatars to spoof the nominations for the Best Film award. And Shah Rukh had taught Hrithik Roshan the ‘the true art of loving one’s wife’ by dragging the shy Sussane on to stage and getting him to publicly declare his adoration for her. Both had the audience on their feet with their acts. Says, Punit Geonka, MD and CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., “ Shah Rukh has been part of all our 13 ceremonies so far.” The awards will be aired on Zee TV on February 5. It's going to be one superstar-packed edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) this year - Shah Rukh Khan will hit the red carpet, and joining him will be Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Riteish Deshmukh, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma (whose 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' premieres at the fest) as well as Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise and Anil Kapoor (whose Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' opens the fest), along with many other celebs.
DIFF Chairman Abdul Hamid Juma announced at a press conference today (November 21) that SRK would be at the fest this year - to cheers from the audience - adding to the stellar line-up of special guests for 2011 including music maestro A R Rahman (who's being honoured with the fest's Lifetime Achievement Award). Other stars who will be on the red carpet include Rahul Bose, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton as well as top names from the GCC such as Fakhria Khamis, Buthaina Alraisi, Huda Hussain and Youssra. And just like the stars, the line-up of movies at DIFF 2011 is pretty impressive too! Apart from 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' and 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol', George Clooney's 'The Descendants', 'My Week With Marilyn' and 'A Whole One' are just some of the other red carpet galas. In all, DIFF 2011 will have 46 world premieres, 25 international premieres and 78 Middle East premieres. DIFF will also host a charity gala on December 10, in association with IWC Schaffhausen, in aid of UAE-based Dubai Cares and the international aid agency Oxfam. The ‘One Night To Change Lives’ black-tie event will take place at the Armani Hotel Dubai. |
